'eBook' is short for 'electronic book', a digital version of a print book that has been optimized for on-screen reading. eBooks are available in a variety of different formats.
What software do I need?eBooks are available in several formats that can be read with their associated eBook reading software. All of these software programs are free to download and each one has its own features that enhance the eBook reading experience. Once you have the reader software on your computer, you can download our free titles and any other eBooks in the format that works with the software you have selected.
If you’d like to try the ePub format, download the most recent version of Adobe Digital Editions here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/#download
Once the program is on your computer, you can download the ePub eBook of your choice and save it to your computer or read it right away. When you’re ready to start reading, just double click the file, and it will open in Adobe Digital Editions automatically. In order to keep the title in your Digital Editions Library you’ll need to either ‘Add Item to Library’ when you have this feature of Digital Editions open or drag and drop the file from its saved location on your computer straight into the Library.
If you’d like to try Mobipocket, download the free software here: http://www.mobipocket.com/en/DownloadSoft/default.asp?Language=EN
And then download the eBook of your choice in the Mobipocket format, saving it to your computer. Then, just open the file in the Mobipocket reader and begin reading. These titles will automatically be saved in your Mobipocket Library.
